I take the safety of my clients and myself very seriously, and so I have put in place measures based on the guidance provided by the Government on how to best organise my services and Photoshoots. 

Services Operating from Home

Currently I am accepting bookings for the following services:

- Product Photography 
- Editing & Retouching Services
- Online Workshops & Mentoring Sessions 
- Remote Photoshoots (I can help you set up at home with as little as a few desk lamps and a phone camera!) 

These can all be done from home with minimal human contact. For more information regarding these services, please get in touch


From June 15th 2020, I will resume taking bookings for photoshoots under strict shooting conditions which include: 

  • Minimal teams with only the photographer and the model or client present. 

  • Social distancing of 2m will be in place where possible throughout the duration of the Photoshoot. 

  • Shoots will take place outdoors, in the countryside with social distancing maintained. 

  • Shoots will remain local to Macclesfield, Cheshire as designated by James Lynd Photography to minimise travel (specific location

  • will be confirmed upon enquiry) 

  • Clients/Models are expected to travel by walking, cycling, or by car rather than by public transport. 

  • Face masks are mandatory for everybody involved. The individual being photographed may remove the mask for brief periods of time as photos are being taken. 

  • The Photographer will be shooting at a minimum focal length of 85mm to maximise social distancing during the photoshoot.

  • Bookings remain subject to sudden change in accordance with Government Guidelines. 

  • Bookings remain subject to sudden change should the Photographer experience COVID-19 symptoms, or suspect they have been exposed to COVID-19. These bookings will be rescheduled for at least 14 days later. 

  • Bookings remain subject to sudden change should the Client/Model experience COVID-19 symptoms, or suspect they have been exposed to COVID-19. These bookings will be rescheduled for at least 14 days later. 

  • Should The Photographer show symptoms of COVID-19 anytime within 14 days after the Photoshoot has taken place, they must contact everyone involved with that Photoshoot immediately to inform them. 

  • Should anybody involved in the Photoshoot show symptoms of COVID-19 anytime within 14 days after the Photoshoot has taken place, they must contact James Lynd Photography immediately to inform them. James Lynd Photography will then immediately inform anybody else involved about the potential exposure. 

  • The Client, the Models and the Crew agree that all photoshoot activity is undertaken at their own risk, and assert that they are responsible for their own health and safety during the Photoshoot, and release James Lynd Photography of any liability should anybody test positive for COVID-19 after the Photoshoot takes place.

All bookings require a 50% non-refundable deposit to confirm the booking. 
Cancellation Policy

  1. Cancellations by the Client must be made as soon as possible. If a cancellation is made more than a week in advance, then any additional payment made will be refunded, minus the 50% non-refundable deposit. Any bookings cancelled less than a week before the date of the photoshoot will not be refunded.  

  2. Should the Photographer be unable to fulfil their obligations of the contract, then a refund will be calculated on a pro-rata basis dependent upon the amount of work already carried out for the Project; unless the Photographer is unable to fulfil their obligations due to a Breach in Contract by the Client in which case there will be no refunds. Where possible, the photographer will endeavour to recommend a replacement photographer. James Lynd Photography cannot make any guarantees regarding the fees and work of any replacements recommended.

  3. Should Government Guidelines regarding COVID-19 change in a way that would make it impossible for the Photoshoot to take place, then James Lynd Photography encourages the Client to reschedule rather than cancel their booking. There will be no additional fees for doing so under these circumstances. 

Reshoot & Reschedule Policy 

  1. If, prior to the photoshoot, inclement weather, or other adverse conditions prevent the photoshoot from taking place, the photoshoot may be arranged for an alternative date. No additional fee for the reschedule will be made, but additional fees may be applicable if the Photographer has already arrived at the location. 

  2. Should circumstances out of the Photographer's control; including but not limited to inclement weather; models arriving late etc. arise during the photoshoot that prevent the photoshoot from being completed successfully within its time-frame, then a reshoot may be arranged at the discretion of the photographer. Additional fees may apply. 

  3. Should the client need to reschedule an event in advance, they must inform the photographer in writing via email as soon as possible. If the booking is rescheduled more than a week in advance, the 50% deposit fee will carry over to the rescheduled date. Should the client reschedule with less than a week's notice, then a non-refundable rescheduling fee of £25 will be required to confirm the rescheduled date. 

  4. Should the client reschedule more than once, an additional administration fee of £50 will be applied for each further reschedule. 

  5. All reshoots and reschedules are subject to the availability of the photographer. The Photographer is not liable for any inconvenience caused as a result of being unavailable at desired times.
